Scale Vein Set Structure
What is a scalp vein set? It is consist of a thin wall hypodermic needle and plastic cap, followed by two soft and flexible “wings”. Connected to these wings is a flexible transparent tubing, normally the length ranging from 20 to 35 cm. At the end of device, it is a connector, often in the form of a female Luer lock, enabling attachment to various other devices such as syringes, infusion set, transfusion set or vacuum blood collection tubes.
For most scalp vein set, shorter tubes are for blood draws, whereas longer tubes are for intravenous therapy. The needles are in stainless steel AISI 304 with triple bevelling and totally non-toxic and non-pyrogenic. Thanks to the triple bevelling,it ensuring minimal pain during venipuncture. There are several packing options available, PE (Polyethylene) bag , paper pouch or blister packing. The scalp vein set must be sterilized by ethylene oxide in the manufacturing facilities
